2024 was a year filled with milestones for HW Fisher, including merging with the Sumer Group and our biggest graduate intake to date. As the year comes to a close, the Board would like to highlight three of our key accomplishments.
In October, we were delighted to announce that HW Fisher had joined forces with Sumer – a collaboration of renowned regional accountancy practices with a shared vision to champion local small to medium-sized enterprises. Reflecting on the news a few months ago, Andrew Rich commented: “We’ve always been ambitious, and Sumer aligns perfectly with our mindset, helping us to realize our vision. The future is bright for our firm, our employees and our clients.”
This year, we welcomed our largest-ever cohort of trainees, with 37 graduates and trainees joining our firm. We were thrilled to see so many graduates choosing to begin their careers with us, with our intake representing 10% of UK universities.
HW Fisher has been proud to partner with Grief Encounter this year, a charity dedicated to helping children and young people cope with the loss of a loved one. Our employees have raised in excess of £12,000 to support this worthy cause. This included our largest charity fundraiser, the HWF Alternative Olympics, where five cross departmental teams competed over two weeks, participating in a variety of daily activities, including quizzes, pool competitions, a baking competition, and logo designs.
