International Men’s Day (IMD) is a global occasion that recognises and celebrates the positive contributions and diverse achievements of men across social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. It’s a day dedicated to raising awareness about issues affecting men and boys, promoting gender equality, and fostering positive role models.
This year’s theme, Positive Male Role Models, encourages men to teach the boys in their lives the values, character and responsibilities of being a man.
The hashtag #MensHealth underscores the importance of supporting men’s mental and physical health, education, and personal growth to build healthier communities and societies. The focus is on addressing challenges such as mental health stigma, fatherhood support, and encouraging positive expressions of masculinity.
The complementary hashtag #PositiveMasculinity highlights the need to create an environment where men are valued, respected, and supported in all aspects of life, contributing to a more inclusive and balanced society.
Today, we reflect on what International Men’s Day means to us and how we can collectively promote and support men’s well-being.
Mark Reveley – Partner
International Men’s Day is an opportunity to highlight men in a positive light. I appreciate the firm’s effort in organising an event to encourage discussions on issues that affect men, but are often avoided because they are difficult to talk about.
Daniel Hayward – Director, Private Client Department
We all strive to make positive changes within our lives, and of those around us, by setting a good example for our colleagues, family, and friends.
International Men’s Day is a great way of celebrating what men can do to help drive these changes, not just for their own benefit but for everyone’s.
Alex De Schivanovits – Senior Auditor
Sometimes men make the headlines for all the right reasons, sometimes they make the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Most of us don’t make the headlines at all. Most of us just work and try to lead happy, healthy lives. That doesn’t mean we’re not giving it our all…
Please help us recognise and celebrate this on International Men’s Day.
Gurdeep Dhanjal – Senior Manager, Sports & Entertainment
A day to reflect and celebrate on the contribution men have had and to think about the role men could have in the future, in a dynamic and rapidly changing world. It’s also a day to recognise the struggles men can go at various stages in their life and to talk about the challenges that they currently face.
Finally, I have drawn on inspiration from male role models to help me achieve goals in life and I hope to provide positive direction to help others.
Kamal Shah – Director
In this fast-paced, busy life, it’s easy to put our needs to one side. Let’s take this day to re-focus, to prioritise ourselves and our wellbeing, and to acknowledge and appreciate the positive male role models around us.
Happy International Men’s Day.
Michael Fraser – Senior HR Manager
IMD is a chance to reflect on the issues that surround men as well as celebrating what being a man means. With this year’s theme focusing on health, it’s a great opportunity to discuss men’s health issues that perhaps aren’t spoken about enough.
Andy Levett – Principal
Having lost friends to suicide, I hope that IMD provides men who are struggling with their mental health an opportunity or the confidence to talk to someone about their struggles and seek help.
